The inspiration behind Creative Minds came from a desire to build a truly welcoming and inclusive space for artistic expression. More than an art studio, it was designed as a sanctuary—one where people feel safe, supported, and encouraged to explore creativity without judgment. For some, the splatter room is a place to imagine and experiment. For others, it’s a therapeutic outlet where complex emotions are transformed into tangible art. Either way, the result is emotional liberation through art-making.

What many people don’t realize is that Creative Minds is open and operating inside The Art Bar, which actually houses two separate businesses. Tucked into this memorable building—recognized by handprints covering the exterior—is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered.

Creative Minds opened in December 2025, bringing something entirely new to the Fargo–Moorhead–West Fargo area. From the start, the goal has been to fill a creative gap in the community by offering a low-barrier wellness space—no therapy sessions, diagnoses, or prior art experience required. Fun is part of it, but so is relief, freedom, and self-discovery.

What truly sets Creative Minds apart is the splatter room experience itself. This isn’t a guided art class—it’s a fully personalized, sensory-rich adventure curated entirely by the customer. Guests choose their music, canvas size and shape, and a custom palette of colors that reflect their mood or vision. A standout feature is the spin table, which adds motion and gravity into the mix, creating unpredictable, dynamic results that make every session thrilling and one-of-a-kind.
